WHAT IS AN AUSTRALIAN MOUNTAIN DOODLE?
An Australian Mountain Doodle, also known as an Aussie Mountain Doodle or AMD is a combination of three different purebred breeds; the Australian Shepherd, Bernese Mountain Dog, and Poodle.
The Australian Mountain Doodle is not to be confused the Australian Bernedoodle. The difference being that Australian Mountain Doodles have Aussie in their lineage and Australian Bernedoodles have Lab and Cocker Spaniel instead.

Aussie Mountain Doodles are a highly intelligent breed that is easy to train. They are often known to outsmart even the smartest owner. While we have not found them to be stubborn like their Bernese parent, consistency with training is always key!
HOW MUCH EXERCISE DOES AN AUSTRALIAN MOUNTAIN DOODLE NEED?
They need moderate to high exercise and mental stimulation to keep them from being bored, destructive, and obese. Playing fetch, going on walks/runs/hikes, or swimming are great ways to get your pup the exercise they need. Aussies are generally a fairly active breed while Bernese lean more to the mellow side. This makes the Aussie Mountain Doodles the perfect in-between!
It is important to remember that not all Aussie Mountain Doodles are the same and some may enjoy more or less exercise to keep them happy and healthy!
WHAT IS THE AUSTRALIAN MOUNTAIN DOODLE TEMPERAMENT LIKE?
Australian Mountain Doodles are friendly, highly intelligent, and social dogs. They thrives with human attention and should not be left alone for long periods of time. They are loyal to their humans and make great family family pets. Australian Mountain Doodles are generally good canidates for therapy and service work due to their sweet personalities, eagerness to please, and high trainability.

The Australian Mountain Doodles lifespan is 10-15 years. In general, smaller breeds (in this case toy or mini sizes) tend to live longer.

In short, YES! Australian Mountain Doodles are loyal, affectionate, and easy going. They are intelligent and eager to please making them highly trainable. AMDs are playful and enjoy spending time with their family. Though they do need moderate exercise and mental stimulation, they are also happy to snuggle up next to you!

Most Australian Mountain Doodles tend to be low to non-shedding. Generally wavy and curly coats will shed less than those with straight coats.
